Materiał ten zapowiada nowy studyjny album Judas Priest, nad którym zespół w składzie: wokalista Rob Halford, gitarzyści Glenn Tipton i Richie Faulkner, basista Ian Hill oraz perkusista Scott Travis intensywnie pracuje.

„Epitaph” prezentuje najlepsze utwory grupy nagrane 26 maja 2012 roku na zakończenie trasy "Epitaph World Tour", w londyńskim Hammersmith Apollo.         23 utwory, które znalazły się na tym wydawnictwie pochodzą z 14 albumów studyjnych zespołu wydanych w latach 1974 – 2008. Znalazły się tu miedzy innymi klasyki: "Rapid Fire", "Metal Gods", "Breaking The Law" czy "Living After Midnight".
